Autumn Murphy was not always called Autumn.
In life, her name was Kathleen. She was born and baptized into a Catholic family. At the age of eighteen she attempted to come “out of the broom closet”, so to speak—she had declared herself neopagan, and told her family so. They weren’t exactly accepting… after four attempted exorcisms and three attempts at “re-baptism”, Kathleen decided she’d had enough.
That night, as her family slept, she put on her boots and jacket, packed her backpack with as much cash as she could find (and some other shiny pawnable things), and started walking. It was a crisp night in November—she found a bus stop early the next morning and caught the bus to Ann Arbor.
Taking the name “Autumn”, she lived on the street for a while. She stayed in a women’s shelter until she was able to find work—at the shelter she got identification and went on to train as a park ranger. She has worked at Gallup Park for some time now.
It was working at Gallup Park and frequenting Crazy Wisdom (the local occult shop) that got Autumn Embraced into the Circle of the Crone. She looks up to her sire, Rosalind—she sees her as something of a mother figure.
Autumn is a redhead of average height and slim build—but don’t let that fool you. She’s physically strong and has a temper to match the color of her hair. She’s most comfortable in blue jeans and a sweater or a leather jacket and her worn boots. Autumn lives in the park for the most part (Protean FTW) but can sometimes be found at Ellen’s haven. She has a cat named Horatio who sleeps in the park’s canoe livery and likes to pounce on the minnows in the Huron shallows. She has a bit of a chip on her shoulder in regards to Catholics and is something of a feminist; she cares little for politics and less for most politicians (unless they prove themselves satisfactorily, that is). She has an abiding love for the outdoors and a deep fascination with the survival instinct of city-dwelling animals. She considers people animals as well and tends to judge them by the animal they most resemble in appearance or personality.
